Tee hee! That was fast! Patriciann posted the first pic of the new Tonner doll, she is based on the model Emme. Take a look at her here.

Okay, Marilyn in Manhattan has an album full of pictures featuring the Tyler exclusive outfit Cosmetic Campaign.

And although we don't have anything yet, Marcia from Facets by Marcia will have pictures very soon! (Yay Marcia!!)

And another tid-bit, Tonner also introduced a plus-sized fashion doll! Did we catch a glimpse of her in Capital Investments?

Ahhhh the waiting!! LOL.

They say, third time's a charm! LOL! I am pretty sure that the Ooh La La Violet is a direct copy of, or inspired by if you will, of a Dior design. I just have to dig out my Dior book.

TOY FAIR 2002!!!

I tried to post this last night but then my computer was acting a bit wonky. LOL.

Anyhows, Joyce W. posted a link on Vicky's to Virtual Dolls. There's pics of the Tonner 2002 Fashion Show. Almost live from New York!

Then posted early this morning, Tomi posted this glorious report from the dinner party given by Ashton Drake at the Russian Tea Room:

What a night! First the AD party at the Russian Tea Room then the Tonner Fashion Show! It’s almost 4 AM, and I have to get up early to freeze inline at FAO, so I’ll give more details later.

AD: We weren’t allowed to take pictures, but I did sneak one. There are so many new dolls in the line that we haven’t seen, and most are to die for, and there is a lot of variety. Even seeing in person the ones that were shown to us – well, I’m going to be broke!

New: Gene as a bride 40’s style – and is so gorgeous I almost spilled my wine. Trent is her GROOM! There is Trent in a white dinner jacket, wearing a RED FEZ! I told Tim Kennedy it looked just like him – lol. Gene as an AIRLINE STEWARDESS! In pale blue – I must have this. I think George Sarofine did this. Trent in a Marine Uniform! Another Coca-Cola Gene. The pix I sneaked are Gene as Emearld Eve – a redhead in an emerald green gown with pleating in the front and around the hip, I think. Gorgeous! Violet in OOH LA LA by Tim Kennedy. A champagne colored silk cocktail dress with pleating in front, and a large hat. I think my drool is still on the table. Violet dressed in a black gown with salmon trim, carrying a mask on a stick. But this looks so much like a copy of the MDC Tyler – imho, so I’ll pass on that one. Oh yes:
Violet – Torch Song – I want to buy her NOW! She is so gorgeous, not only the gown but her wrap is sumptuous in kindof a coral color silk with gold threads (could be embroidery, I can’t remember).

I was the guest of my friend Kim Elzey of Alternative Gifts . The party was in a private dining room on the 3rd floor. It was a full meal – cheeses, etc., 2 kinds of pasta, chicken, steak, etc., but the plates were salad size, and we were piling it high, so I was eating my olives last, as they were buried!

Anyway, here’s the pix, and I’ll post more, and also about the Tonner event, but I have to get to bed - lol

And here is a link to the picture Tomi posted: The picture.

Ooooh I love it! It reminds me alot of a Doug James design called Dinner in Bombay.

That's it for now, I am sure more news will trickle out all day, as today is the first official day of Toy Fair. Infact, my friend Wayne is in NYC as we speak so hopefully he will have some tidbits to share as well. (He designed Gene's costume, Weekend in Monterey. Until then...

By the way, I've done some tweaking to The Confidential. If you notice down there to your left, I've added links to my my favorite shops. Now make me proud, and help boost up the economy!!

*blush* I apologise for the non-workingness (Is that a word?) of my Wendy Lawton pictures. It's on my list of things to do though! Tee hee!

But in other doll circles, we have a picture of the FAO Spring Gene exclusive, she's called, Springtime in Central Park:

The dress reminds me of, all rolled into one, Tango, Blue Heaven, and Pink Lightening, with the hat from On the Avenue tossed in. I love her hair though.
