Regarding Laura Meisner, Cheryl in LA posted this today on Vicky's Board:

Hi All,

I just spoke with one of Laura Meisner’s best friends. I was asked to relay this information to all of Laura’s friends. If you would like to send a card to the family, please email me privately, and I will supply you with a name and address. Laura’s service will be kept to just immediate family. The family is asking that each one of you “perform an act of kindness in Laura’s memory this week”. Additionally, in lieu of flowers, if you would like to make a donation in Laura’s name to your local Suicide Prevention Hotline.

Please feel free to contact me if you need any further information at chpower@aol.com. http://www.xynadra.com/bbs/dolls/messages/205522.html

Pinque Passion Gene has been reported to be shipping! Amazing, and it isn't even Toy Fair! Stacy in IL posted her review here.

Coming on the heels of the Columbia tragedy, the Doll World has it's own...

The following was posted on Vicky's Board tonight by Mary in CT.

"It is with a heavy heart that I must convey the news of the passing
of my dear friend Laura Meisner. She had asked me to tell all of you
that she hoped her love of fashion, beauty and dolls would bring
pleasure and joy to all those who have chosen to include her vision in
their lives and she thanked you all from the bottom of her heart. Her
husband, Danny, has asked that all of us who were touched by her life
and work to perform a random act of kindness during this coming week.
Laura would have liked that. She was a brilliant, talented, creative
person but most of all she cared about people. Everyone had a story,
everyone had value, everyone was important. She had a kind and
generous heart and cared deeply about the lives and feelings and hopes
and dreams of others. I was privileged to have her as my friend and I
loved her dearly. I shall miss her every day for the rest of my life."

Laura will be deeply missed by those that she touched, directly or indirectly. Be it through her vast knowledge of dolls, or by her contributions to Gene, or through her collaborations in the creation of Daisy, Willow and the CED dolls; we have lost a talented woman. My deepest condolences to her family.
